We visited this restaurant in Gisborne for the first time in a while, hoping for a nice meal. The food was okay, but unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by poor service. We planned to use a 2-voucher deal and asked the waitress to split the bill, which she agreed to. However, when we went to pay, the cashier only applied one voucher, claiming no one told him about the split. He was rude and unhelpful when we raised the issue.
To add to the frustration, during our meal, the waitress kept asking if we were done and trying to take our plates, even though we were far from finished with our main course. It felt like they were rushing us, which was disappointing. We came to have a good time, but the staff's behavior really impacted our experience. Wouldn’t return because of the poor service

My partner and I came into Lonestar on Sunday just gone and had a wonderful time. The food was on point and Mere (our waitress) was awesome and very polite with us too.
We went into the bar afterwards and the young man who served us was very welcoming and his service was amazing!!
We will definitely be back the next time we are in Gisborne. Top notch Lonestar!

We turned up for dinner without a booking a couple of days before Christmas, and after a short wait we were lucky enough to be seated. The service by all who dealt with us was on point, exceptional! The food was next level, massive servings packed with flavour leaving 3 of us very full and satisfied. I highly recommend the Lone Star Gisborne, you won't be disappointed.

The sweet hoisin sauce ribs are delicious, had a decent amount of meat on the ribs and the fries and slaw sides I ordered were on point. Was a busy night so ate in the pub, great view over the water, service was great too. Only downside is the menu items seem a bit pricey to me, especially the steaks.
