Drinks were strong but delicious.
Service was friendly but slow however we were in no rush so just enjoyed. Food was delicious and good value. Will definitely be back

A Hidden Gem in Gisborne – The Works

Had a great experience here a few nights ago! The food was delicious with generous portions! My husband had the Seafood Chowder and said it was the most delicious one he's had! I had the Gnocchi which was also very tasty! We shared our dessert of the Berry Sorbet which was such a huge portion we could hardly finish it. The only minor negative was that my husband's cocktail took some time to get to the table but once he got it, the taste made up for the delay! We would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back next time we're staying in Gisborne.

While the staff were lovely the food was an absolute letdown.
We ordered Cesar Salads, the croutons were very hard and chewey, bacon was almost non existent, lots of lettuce and parmesan.
The kids got cheese burgers and while the bun was good (brioche) the patty was far to small for the bun, a teeny bit of cheese, a smaller amount of sauce and all you could taste was the pepper that the patty was covered in, the fries were good.
We ate everything because at $20+ per meal I wasn't going to waste it but such a disappointing meal.
The mocktails were good.
Overall, not somewhere i wouldn't go again and not somewhere i would recommend for others to go either.
